Two dozen people are waiting in the lobby, and a dozen more are standing outside in a drizzle. The parking is in a sharp curve and there isn’t much room for many cars. But Brenda thinks of it as a family, too, and of course you know who is first in her heart.

There is a huge cross here and it is just so peaceful to get out of your vehicle and just sit and look. We made a stop at 5th Avenue Deli for lunch on our last day. Then we stopped at the Cottage of Sweets for treats. My husband and I both sampled fudge while the kids picked out some sweets to bring home. These LEGO shaped candies are actually buildable and attach to real LEGO bricks. This inviting hotel is located in the town of Carmel by the Sea. The hotel has free off-street parking so you can get out and walk around the quaint little town.
The dining table sat 4, making it a great resting spot for breakfast. Our two bedroom suite had a king bedroom in one room and two queen size beds in the other room. This was more than enough room for our family of five and gave us the opportunity to spread out and one of our kids (my sweet redhead) to have a queen-sized bed all to herself. They offer freshly baked pastries from a local bakery, coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, and yogurt. We loaded everything we wanted on a tray and brought it back for our hungry kids. It was perfect for us and so nice to not have to worry about getting out of the room early enough for breakfast or worry about budgeting for the cost of breakfast. Location was on the hill of Carmel, but still walking distance to the beach. Food was a simple continental breakfast, but coffee or tea was good.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the shared dining area or on the patio with ocean views.This charming hotel is 1.8 mi from Pebble Beach and 1.1 mi from Carmel Mission. San Jose International Airport is 56 mi away. Every morning, there is a continental breakfast available to guests in the hotel office.
No bathtub in my room, but the shower was fine if older. The place had charm and loved the dutch doors to see the view and get fresh air. Everything - from the second we checked in until we left. Great hospitality, nice welcome, lovely room, nice view, comfortable bedding, and nice morning breakfast greeting. Just wish we had time to enjoy the welcoming pool.
